Simply put, strategic planning determines where an organization is going over the next year or more and how it's going to get there. Typically, the process is organization-wide, or focused on a major function such as a division or department. Organizations do a strategic plan for a variety of reasons ranging from helping to focus the board to defining fiscal policies.
Advantage Consulting’s approach to strategic planning is to ensure that the process is relevant to its mission and achievable by its stakeholders. One unique aspect to our approach is to do a cultural assessment as part of the strategic planning process. Focusing on culture is important when any changes are going to affect the entire organization. We assist the client organization to identify its key questions for planning a way forward and assist them in collecting the data necessary to answer those questions. Finally, we assist our clients to chart out a detailed action plan and timeline for implementing the proposed plans.
